Dear Students, Parents, Alumni, and Visitors, welcome to the Department of Computer Engineering at Government Engineering College, Bharuch. The department was established with the objective of preparing young engineers to meet the dynamic needs of the IT industry and society, especially in and around the rapidly developing Bharuch region.
In the present era of digital transformation, computer engineers play a crucial role in shaping technologies that impact every sector — from manufacturing and finance to healthcare and governance. Our department is committed to providing a strong academic foundation along with extensive practical exposure so that students can design, develop, and deploy reliable and efficient computing solutions.
The department has a team of qualified and dedicated faculty members who actively engage in teaching–learning, mentoring, and academic support for students. Through regular lectures, laboratory sessions, tutorials, seminars, project guidance, and remedial support, we endeavour to address diverse learning needs and help students achieve their academic and professional goals.
We encourage our students to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as coding competitions, hackathons, technical paper presentations, project exhibitions, and professional society events. These activities build confidence, improve communication skills, and cultivate teamwork and leadership qualities essential in the workplace.
The department is continuously upgrading its laboratories, software tools, and networking facilities to keep pace with evolving technologies in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, and Cybersecurity. By leveraging industry interactions, MoUs, and government initiatives, we strive to provide our students with internship opportunities and exposure to real-time projects.
